From The South (June 2012)

Brothers,

Bro. Bobrick and I have just returned from the 2012 Wardens Retreat. At the Retreat we gained invaluable information about how to improve the communications and experience within the Lodge for our members.

Bro Bobrick will present information about our experience at our next stated meeting.

During the next couple of months we will be once again be conducting degree rituals.

As a condition for us to conduct the degrees, the Inspector and our Officers Coach, have asked that we have a practice witnessed by either one of them prior to the actual degree ceremony. Therefore it will be necessary for us to have all the Brothers involved in the degree ritual attend a practice at the lodge before we can conduct our ceremony.

So please Brothers make yourselves available as much as possible and attend practices as called.

Message From The South (May 2012)

Brothers,

The first part of 2012 has been busy and I foresee the rest of the year being the same. I like to thank every brother who has stepped in and participated and contributed their time and energy in translating our aspirations into reality.

Last month we made our formal Public Schools donation to a needy school and in June we will be seeking to honor local Kindergarten teachers at our state meeting. If you have any suggestions in who to invite please give me the names and contact information. Lets make a strong effort to show our local educational community that we care and appreciate their personal efforts.

Over the next couple of months we will be doing a string of 1st and 2nd degrees. Come out and welcome our newest EAs and FCs.

From The South (April 2012)

Brothers,

Just a friendly reminder, at our April Stated Meeting we will be passing the “hat of fraternal giving” to supplement our Public Schools program by financially supporting the Grand Masters program—”Raise A Reader”.

We have scheduled that we will once again providing needed funds to a local school.

The past couple of years we have supported the Oceana Arts program.

At the present time we have a number of newly passed and initiated Brothers who will be ready over the next couple of months. As always we need brothers to help as sideliners and participants in some of the ceremonies. If your interested in participating please let me know.

In closing this months message, I wish to ask all those brothers who have not been to the lodge for awhile to please make an effort to attend a stated meeting, we want to see you again.

From The South (March 2012)

Brothers,

During the next month we will be preparing to help new brothers with seeing the light by which Masons work.

I’d like to suggest that we establish a Layman’s night this year. Its important for us to bring in new candidates and improve our relationship with existing brothers.

The grand lodge has materials that we can use to tell our fraternal story to the public.

In April we will be conducting our Publics School out reach. Once again the lodge will be presenting much needed funds to a deserving local school.

In addition to the scholarship from the lodge. I’d like to suggest that we each make a donation to the Grand Masters program—”Raise A Reader”.

So in April we will be asking Brothers to make a reasonable donation to this special Masonic out reach program.

From The South (February 2012)

Brothers,

As we begin the new year, we will have several brothers to raise in the next couple of months.

This will be an exciting time for the Lodge. Newly raised brothers means that our Coastside legacy will continue. With this in mind we are very interested in starting the “Rusty Trowel” concept here at the Lodge.

The “Rusty Trowel” is our out reach program to bring local raised brothers back to the Lodge.

Upon initial research there are roughly 10 local brothers who have not been to Lodge in a couple of years. And they know who they are.

We want you to know that we care about you and would love to have you attend Lodge at least three or four times a year.

We plan to have a welcome back program in April. So for those who are local and haven’t been here in awhile, expect to receive a invitation call from the Lodge.

From The South (January 2012)

Brothers,

I hope everyone had a great holiday season. But now it’s time to go to work.

We have a very busy January and February schedule.

Therefore our degree team will need to be prepared to handle the work. Last year we did a very fine job in raising several brothers to the sublime degree of Master Mason. And now we are planning to do the same or more in the coming new year.

As the purveyor of refreshments when we meet, I just want to re-publish my refreshment plan for any degree work.

When we have practices there will be a light snack, at all degrees there will be a dinner at 6 PM and then dessert after the degree to celebrate and enjoy each other’s company.

I am open to meal suggestions. Hopefully we will have a good meal and more brethren attending the degrees.

From The South (December 2011)

Brothers,

Where has the year gone? It seems just like yesterday I was just settling in as the Junior Warden, now all of a sudden I’ll be the Senior Warden for 2012.

As for being the Newly elected Senior Warden, I am looking forward to the challenges and role that I will play in assuring the traditions of Freemasonry continue.

I see great promise with the new members that we have coming into the Lodge. With their hard work in learning their parts we will continue to see the growth and continuation of Coastside Lodge #762 for the foreseeable future.

As my other Brothers have expressed, I too would love to see more of our older brothers attend our lodge meetings and events. If a ride or any other assistance
Is needed please let us know.

We want all brothers to attend but especially those who represent the legacy of Coastside Lodge.

Message From The South (November 2011)

Brothers,

The past couple of months we have been working to initiate, pass and raise brothers in the lodge. All of the Brothers who have helped in making sure our degrees are effective and memorable.

With the close of the year, I will be leaving the South and taking the position in the West. I am looking forward to the challenge and the eventual move to the East.

I wish to extend a heartfelt invitation to all the Brothers of Coastside Lodge to attend our Installation in December especially those Brothers who haven’t been to the Lodge lately. I hope many of you will attend. Each and everyone of you is important to our Lodge.

I wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving and joyful Holiday season.

In closing, congratulations to our newly raised Brother Michael Perry. Our lodge degree team is getting better with each ceremony performed.

Message From The South (October 2011)

Brothers,

Congratulations to the newly passed brothers of the Lodge.  Our Lodge degree team did a great job in presenting their parts and working so well together.

The lodge performed both a double first and second degree rituals this past month.  This means we will be hopefully raising a couple of brothers before the end of the year.

It appears that 2011 will end with a flurry of activities between degrees, installation and Christmas party. So be prepared for a busy holiday season.

I wish to take this opportunity to appeal to brothers who haven’t been to the lodge in awhile to be please come back and share the light with us.  Please come by for a spell and regale us with the story of your journey.  The Great Light will be waiting, as will the warmth of our friendship. Oh, and of course, nothing warms the heart like having food to fill the belly. Come join us at the stated meeting.

Message From The South (September 2011)

Brothers,

Greetings from the South, I would like to thank all the Brethren who participated in our last third degree ritual. It went very well with the help of our current and past Masters.

In search of further light and knowledge is one of the single most important aspect of Masonic life. Early on, I was advised by well-informed Brethren to learn my proficiency, pay attention in Lodge and to learn the rituals of the three degrees.

This advise proved to be the motivation I needed to spur my interests in learning. There are many knowledgeable Brothers who are always in attendance at our Lodge. I encourage each of you to attend practice where you will learn the floor work and the ritual. This time together helps build Friendship and Brotherhood; two basic and fundamental necessities of Masonry.

Also, for practice or stated meeting if any Brother needs transportation contact the Lodge so that arrangements can be made to enable you to attend Lodge.
